best show youve been to

this one's hard for me, but id have to say it was boris and torche in cleveland. torche was nuts, played every song i wanted to hear and then some. i was actually inadvertently involved in a mosh pit which i never do. just when i thought i was out, they pulled me back in. it was actually pretty cool.
words cannot describe how awesome boris was. they kinda split their set and did the pink/heavy rocks style fast-paced stuff first and finished with two long ass drooooooones. shit got intense

Absolutely impossible for me to decide. I'll think of some later. That Torche/Boris show really was good, though. Boris actually played an extremely long set that stayed interesting the entire time.

or the show We Stand Corrected was able to play with Brody's Militia (Hooker Spit Windex, Pizza Hi-Five, The Boobs, WSC in Dayton, OH).. definitely a good one.

Gosh I can never make superlatives, especially when I have to look back at the past 7 years of going to shows. (I'm sure others have a harder time with this.)

Off the top of my head, I saw Goldfinger in 2005 with a friend of mine and that was insane. Every detail of that show is still fresh in my mind. Plus they covered "99 Red Balloons" and 99 red balloons and confetti fell from the ceiling.

I was at that Torche/Boris show. Boris certainly puts on one hell of a set, and despite it being three hours long, I was far from bored during the whole duration. Very memorable night. Torche's set at Dude Fest 2008 before that show was much better than the one in Cleveland.

Torche at Dude Fest '08 was equivalent to having a planet fall on you.

I can't think of a best SHOW, but there are plenty of best sets I've ever seen. Of course, the main one that always sticks out in my mind was seeing the Minus Tide for the first time (Dec. 7th, 2001...holy shit that's nerdy) and being scared absolutely shitless. I wish I could feel the same way at a show now as I did at that show, but I know that can't happen anymore. Bummersville.

Also, Good Luck's set this past Saturday in Columbus absolutely blew my mind. I wasn't expecting to be as impressed as I was. That set made me a fan.

If we're counting fests, then it would be United Blood '09. The fucking Cro-Mags played. You really can't top that.

As far as just shows go to though, Floorpunch and Cold World in Richmond was one of the best. And the Halloween show at the Brickhouse.

Also gonna have to go with that Torche/Boris show. Boris droning while the drummer played the gong and Torche's drummer crowdsurfed was just a whole different level of awesomely bizarre.

Best show I've been to recently was the Halloween show at the Brickhouse, because several bands I really enjoyed played, but apparently I was the only person there that listens to Hour Of The Wolf (second this has happened to me). Kevin Devine played a two hour set last time I saw him, and played a lot of really good covers. I don't know, because I've seen a lot of bands that I really enjoyed when they were still good or when they were still bands. But the two that I mentioned are the first ones that come to mind.

Edit: AFI, Strike Anywhere, and The Explosion when I was like 15. First big show I had went to, and it was fucking awesome.

Probably Dudefest 08 for me fest wise(and just in general), and probably either Isis/Pelican, or Opeth. As for local shows probably a Minus Tide show.

i decided the other day i need to see isis again. i saw them when they opened for tool a few years ago, and i was so far away neither band really left much of an impression. hopefully theyll play someplace where ill be able to actually see them

I played the DDC this past winter and dudes blood is still on the celing.

Any and all Minus Tide shows. Probably at New Kelli's when Dallas blew the PA speakers with massive screams that would make a brood mother burst into flames.

Or Horse The Band, BTBAM and Dillinger. Meh.

Avett Brothers... probably the first time I saw them. They played so many great songs and their energy did not stop for the entire time. It was my first time seeing my favorite band and I was almost touching the stage. Also, Sam Crain, who opened, was AWESOME.

But best local show would definitely be one of the old Minus Tide shows... There was one at new Kelli's where I remember being packed shoulder to shoulder with everybody.. that show was intense. It felt like the floor was going to cave in. I miss those days.
