punk wouldn't exist without the beatles. pretty much any original band for that matter. also, i view noise in the same vein and as an offshoot of punk rock. do we really need to discuss this?

adding to my list: Fire & Ice - "Gods and Devils" EP

Shit is so good, "Gods and Devils" is the most ridiculous anti-haterz anthem.

Also, my entire opinion of John Mayer is based off that song "Your Body Is A Wonderland." Uhhhhhh

Yeah, that's what makes your opinion wrong!

Check out his live album/dvd. Or the new one.

if it weren't for the beatles nobody could have gotten successful because of their own work. they made it ok to play originals in an era where music had had a stand-still of dudes playing blues covers and releasing it on 7". without the beatles, the world would have never seen the rolling sones, jimmy hendrix, the who or any of the bands/musicians who were instrumental in making music what it is today.

Technically, all music is noise. But not all noise is music. Kinda like how all squares are rectangles but not all rectangles are squares. Ya dig?

As much fun as we were having at J's expensve, I pretty much agree here.

I'm going to do 10 now, since I everyone else did more than 5!
This is no particular order, the last post seemed like it was 1 through 5 for me. (expcet for blacklisted, that's number 1 for me)
Blacklisted-"No One Deserves To Be Here More Than Me"
Soul Control-"Cycles"
Modest Mouse-"No One's First, and You're Next"
My Heart To Joy-"Seasons In Verse"
Trapped Under Ice-"Secrets Of The World"
Forfeit-"The Lower Depths"
Bane-"Dublin 11:58pm"
Brand New-"Daisy"
Foundation-"Hang Your Head"
Pianos Become The Teeth-"Old Pride"

so many good records this year, why did I make this thread? damn me.

I think I could've gone my entire life without ever hearing The Rolling Stones and I'd still be okay. God that band pisses me off.

really? oh man the stones are like my all time favorite. are you basing this on stuff that came out in the 80s-on? cause i think you could really get into some of the stuff the did in the 60s and early 70s. if you havent heard "their satanic majesties request" i highly suggest you do so because it's fucking amazing. truth be told they fucked up royally later on, in their 30s and 40s, but everything up until exiled is pretty much top notch music over all. i feel like i'm ranting, sorry haha

ANYWAYS, stones were an amazing band. i think this all stopped once they got that annoying mouth logo and they started doing collabs of their former great songs with aretha franklin.

my 2 cents ; )

Every song I've ever heard by the Stones I've found incredibly annoying. I think it's just Mick Jagger that pisses me off. I don't know the era any of it's from, but I always change it when I hear it.

Also, lul.
