10/17/09. Floorpunch, Cold World, War Hungry, Bracewar, Dead End Path in Richmond, VA

Dead End Path - New Wilkes-Barre band, hard as nails. Sound like Merauder and all those heavy 90s bands. Not an exciting stage presence, but they sounded tight.

Naysayer - Surprise 3-song set because War Hungry was late?! Yes please. I really like this band. I sung along and moshed. Great Richmond hardcore.

Bracewar - This was like my 5th time seeing them, and I'm kinda burnt out on this band. They played all 4 songs off the new demo, which actually sounded really good live. Also, they played a lot of old songs AND a Breakdown cover. I enjoyed their set a lot more than I thought I was going to.

War Hungry - Finally they showed up! All their songs sounded tight, and they had a great stage presence. Their bass player was crazy as fuck, swingin' his shit around. Hoodrack was hilarious. Disappointed they didn't play "Final Hour," but still awesome.

Cold World - Best I've ever seen them play live. Tons of energy, TONS of stagedives and singalongs. Hard Richmond mosh. Got a sweet dive and mic grab in on "Refuse to Lose." Also, guest vox from George of Blacklisted. Damn.

Floorpunch - What can I say? It's fucking Floorpunch. And it was their second to last show ever. Stagedives were in full effect, I moshed to "Intro/Changes." Awesome.

Pros:
- the car ride up and down, Jacob getting jealous of my sick flows when I rap.
- good food
- I always like visiting Richmond

Cons:
- I really hate the crew bullshit in Richmond. So many hate-moshers and toughguys.
- Foot caught in mic cable = injury.


All-in-all an awesome time. Definitely made up for not being able to head up to Boston for the "real" Edge Day festivities.

Dead End Path-Not to bad of a set, guitar player didn't move at ALL. Played the demo, and was off the stage. Nice, and short.
Naysayer-I hate his fucking vocals. Alex moshed.
Bracewar-Pretty good set, REALLY burnt out on this band, Breakdown, and I think a Leeway cover. They played alot of songs, trying to kill time before Wungry got there.
War Hungry-AWESOME, AWESOME, AWESOME. Finally got to see these guys, and they did not disappoint. Great set, picked up a tape, A+ stuff. Stoked for thier full length
Cold World-Best I've seen them too, great set. Played all the hits, kids were going crazy, awesome time.
Floorpunch-Saw them at This Is Hardcore, glad I got the chance to see them again. It seemed like noone knew the words, that was lame, but great set. NOONE KNEW THE WORDS TO THE BREAKDOWN COVER! Very fucking weird. Survived another Floorpunch set.

yeah, it was a super tiny venue, but stage diving there seemed like a HUGE pain in the ass. so many kids hit the speakers hanging. I thought for sure they were gonna' fall off there hooks.
