attn: gear heads, bass/guitar people! (jack, eric, ect) question!

I just bought a head, it's 2 ohms, and that marshall cabinet is 4 ohms.

Will it fuck my head up running these two together? i know that it'll eithier underpower the amp, and I won't get the full wattage out of the head, or i'll blow it up, I'm just not sure which is which. HELP PLEASE!

you should be fine, underpowering the head isn't going to hurt the head, its overpowering it that will kill it. What head did you get?

Yeah, i just found it that it's a 2 ohm minimum, so i'm good. It's a Peavey 400 series musician head. It was made in 1977 I think, it's a dinosaur but sounds awesome, and it was what i've wanted since I heard someone play out of them because I can use them for pretty much any kinda I ever want to play.

P.S. Eric, is that a new head you have? Is is a Marshall Plexi?

Second: jacob, thank you! I haven't gotten to try out a jcm 800, id really like to. From what i've read the jmp that i have is really close, if not exactly identical, to a jcm800. But Im really lovin my new amp either way. Tons better than the jcm2000 i had i think.

Oh, I thought you had an 800. Sweet though! Everytime Landmine plays you should play with a full stack, it sounded perfect. I know a band that records with a jcm800, but he uses it with his bass. pretty crazy shit, I want to try it to see what it it'll sound like.

i've read that using 800s for bass gets a pretty sweet result. Id love to play with a full stack at every show, but we can't fit a full stack of mine in the car on top of all the other stuff we have in there already. Plus that would be more stuff to carry, and the other guys in the band wouldn't like that much

tell em' to suck it up, because sometimes at shows I can't hear your guitar over Jacks bass. BUT anyways, new head sounds awesome, and when the fuck are you gonna release your 7''!?

I'm quitting Horseburner for that reason.

I don't think it's been as much a case of not wanting to carry stuff as it has just not having enough room.
