no one seems to understand

there are plenty of people who have been into hardcore for a while, and will continue to be a part of it for a while

the only kids who were really making want to write that rant were the kids who got into hardcore about 10 months ago, and act like its the end all, be all way of life

none of those kids were into anything more than a trend

its true, idc if why you go to shows
im glad you're going, and supporting local music

but you go and talk shit, acting like you're some god of the scene, when you're talking about other people just like you, or worse yet, talking about the guy who should be considered the god of the scene

now i dont know who it was, nor do i care, but why in the hell would you talk shit about david? he has done more for local music than anyone in wv

he kept the brickhouse open when he could have more easily have just said fuck it, and let the last venue we had shut down for good. he books over half the shows you go to. he spends money out of his own pocket to pay for the lease. and i could go on.

that sucks man. don't let stupid shit ruin it. there was a good while where i would go to every show at the brickhouse and some ywca shows by myself because the people i normally went with pretty much stopped going because of other kids, which i think is dumb. it sucked going alone (at that point i was just awkwardly acquainted with everyone), but once the bands started playing all of the dumb "scene" problems are easily disregarded.

all the dumb scene shenanigans is easily outweighed by live music, and in the long run it's worth putting up with it. you always looked like one of the few people that actually had fun, enjoyed yourself, moshed, and came out pretty regularly. it'll suck to have one less kid like that.


i'm not trying to start shit, disrespect you, or tell you what to do or anything, so hopefully it won't be taken that way.

i just wish we had a more accessible venue to the kids that came out from huntington and parkersburg, which is about 95% of all the kids at hardcore shows.
